When I saw this photo, and the way it appeared to be "looking up" I was immediately reminded of the scripture from Psalm 121.

Today is Day 2 for the blooming of the Sunflowers. These yellow-petaled daisy related bloomers bring us much joy, and joy to those who see them in passing.

The Sunflower Garden is flourishing this season. It's been three growing seasons since we've been able to grow these beauties, and we saw our food crop diminish because of the lack of the Sunflowers.

The bees and butterflies and their great pollination had been such a benefit in years past, that we believed the Sunflowers were such a draw to them, we had to try and get them growing again.

Other flowers attracted the bees and butterflies, to be sure, but nothing has ever drawn them as the Sunflowers do.

The last time we were able to grow these, the bees and butterflies were so used to me being in the garden with them, they pretty much ignored me.

When weather and work schedules permitted, we were in the garden on a daily basis. We could move a sunflower to the side to get a better photo of another one, or, just to look at other Sunflowers, and it didn't faze the bees or butterflies at all. We are hopeful for the same success taking photos this season.

And, not once did we get stung ~ thankfully :)
