Description
Changes of Time by Diannah Lynch
More than fifty years ago, my grandmother would send me to the grocer with her list, and her groceries would be delivered that afternoon. She always gave me a dime, and most of the time I would have change left over :)
The long country road I walked from home to the grocery store was between two sections of water. This shot would have been on the right side of the country road. Fifty years ago it was covered in water ~ no trees, whatsoever, and it was called the "backwaters" ~
When it was covered in water, I remember several of my cousins going there. The "backwaters" caused many spankings when parents found out their kids had been there, as they considered it too dangerous a place for their kids to be playing.
It amazed me when I saw how the backwaters look now. This shot was taken recently, and just trying to imagine how it was without one tree in this place, and for it now to be almost totally covered with trees, showed me how the Changes of Time can make such an amazing difference in what we once knew.
